The Havanese Breeders Florida is a small, toy breed of dog that originated in the country of Cuba. It is now the country's national dog. Well known for its friendly and energetic personality, this breed is very popular with new dog owners across the globe. Whether for companionship or conformation showing, this breed excels at all of its endeavors.
It is said that the original specimens of the breed were all white and of a bichon type, meaning they were small, fluffy white dogs. Today, this breed comes in a myriad of colors, and can be shown in any color or pattern without penalty. Black lips and noses are common in solid colored or patterned dogs, while chocolate or brown dogs can have dark brown trimmings.
Typically, this breed is at the smallest seven pounds, or at its largest thirteen. Height averages around eight inches at the shoulder.
As a toy breed, they thoroughly enjoy the company of humans and other animals, and can become depressed when left alone. Other animals or humans can be left with the dog while its owners are away in order to keep it company.
As double coated dogs, the Havenese have an exceptionally luxurious outer coat. This is not harsh or prickly as with other breeds, typically those from the Arctic. Show line individuals cannot have their fur cut or trimmed for an extreme stylish effect, but can be styled and brushed in order to make it slightly more manageable.
A playful and sociable companion, Havanese Breeders Florida is ideal for young children and those who desire a fun loving companion. During training in the younger years, this dog often excels in obedience. Pleasing its owners is the dog's number one priority when brought into a family.
